Washington Trip (4) ワシントントリップ (4) 8/30 Morning 3

遊びたかったんだけど、年齢制限が・・・。）

After the Pike Place Market, we went to REI - Seattle Flagship. It is a huge outdoor sports supply store! It is like an amusement park for outdoor lovers.

Loren and I bought some camping gears there. (We borought most of equipments from Maui.)

Loren was so hyper since he did not sleep much. On the other hand, I was so spacey because I did not sleep much. While Loren was running around, getting what we needed, I was giving up... I had to sit down for a while.

I bought the green windbreaker I am wearing in the photo. It was on sale, and I always wanted one something like that.
Since I met Loren, I have been introduced to more activities that associate with nature. I really appreciate the opportunities he is creating for me.

Visiting REI was an interesting experience like seeing history how humans developed ways to play or/and deal with nature. I bet there was no windbreaker like I am wearing in the photo 100 years ago. It is nice that REI is helping us to stay connected with nature; at the same time, we cannot forget nature is still nature. No matter how much we improve our tools, we never conquer nature.

パイク　プレイス　マーケットの後は、REIのシアトル本店に行ってきましたよ。
REIは大手のアウトドア用品（キャンプ用品を含め）を幅広く取り扱うお店です。特にこのシアトル店は、大きなもので、アウトドア大好きな人たちにとっては、遊園地のようなところです。

私たちは、そこでいくつかのキャンプ用品を買い揃えました。（ほとんどの物はマウイから持って行きました。）

ローレン、寝ていないためにすごいハイテンション。その一方私は同じく寝ていないせいで、すごいローテンション。店中を駆け回りながら物を探すローレンに付いていけず、店の一角に座り込む私。「彼は何であんなに元気なのかしら？」

上の写真にも写っている、緑色のウインドブレーカーを買いました。セールで安くなってたし、一つ欲しいなと前から思っていたので、思い切って。

ローレンに会ってから、自然と戯れる（たわむれる）アクティビティをもっとする機会が増えました。その機会を作ってくれているローレンには感謝。REIでのショッピングは良い経験になりました。自然と遊んだり向かい合うために、私たちは道具を発明し続けてきたわけですね。まるで、その歴史を見ているような感じがしました。100年前には私の買ったウインドブレーカーは無かったでしょうね。

REIが私たちが自然と繋がっていられるよう、お助けをしてくれていることに感謝しつつ、いくら道具が便利になっても自然は自然。決して私たち人間が、征服出来るものではないのですね。
