Dogo Onsen 道後温泉

Now, my brother, Michimasa and his girlfriend, Ayumi are visiting my parents' place in Matsuyama, Ehime. They both go to school in Osaka.

One night, Ayumi and I went to Dogo Onsen in Matsuyama. Dogo Onsen is the oldest Japanese hot spring. I love hot springs, and Dogo Onsen is the one that my aunt took me a couple of times when I was a young girl.

According to Wikipedia, "The main building in the movie Spirited Away was modeled on the present building of the Dōgo Onsen public bathhouse. Spirited Away was directed by famed animator Hayao Miyazaki in 2001 and it was named Best Animated Feature at the 75th Academy Awards."

I also love Hayao Miyazaki's movies. If you have not watched one, you should check them out. My favorites are "My Neighbors Totoro," "Kiki's Delivery Service," and "Valley of the Winds."

今、弟の充昌と彼女のあゆみちゃんが松山に帰ってきています。二人とも大阪にある学校に行っています。

この前、あゆみちゃんと二人で道後温泉に行ってきました。道後温泉は日本で最古と言われている温泉です。私は温泉が大好きです。道後温泉には、小さい頃に松山を訪れる度に伯母が連れて行ってくれたのを覚えています。

道後温泉は、宮崎駿監督が作られた「千と千尋の神隠し」に出てきた湯屋のデザインにも参考にされたそうです。

宮崎駿監督の作られた映画も私は大好きです。お気に入りは「となりのトトロ」、「魔女の宅急便」、それから「風の谷のナウシカ」です。もし、見たこの無い人がいましたら、ぜひ観てみてください。（このメッセージは主に日本人以外の人に向けて書いたもの。だって日本人だったら宮崎駿さんの作られた映画の一つくらいは育っていく途中で自然と観ていると思うので。これは偏見かしら。）
