PO Box 郵便局の私書箱

(カフルイ郵便局の中。これらの中の一つが私の私書箱でした。どれか分かる？って分からないよね。）

I finally canceled my P.O.Box (Post Office Box) last week. I had rented it since September 2004 at Kahului Post Office on Maui. I used the service because I was required to have one at the previous place where I used to live (the landlord did not want me to use his mailing address), and also I did not want to notify my change of address to everybody, including my friends, bank, credit card company, car insurance, car registration, insurance, etcetera each time when I moved. However, it was such a hectic to go to the post office to check my mails, and I could save my money for the rent fee, and I seem to live at where I live now for the next couple of years, so I decided to let it go. It was kind of sad when I returned my P.O.Box key because it was like my own treasure box. Each time when I opened my box, I was a bit excited. Well, now, I have a new mailing address. 先週、とうとうP.O.Box（日本で言うと私書箱のようなもの）をキャンセルしました。マウイのカフルイという町にある郵便局で2004年の9月から借りてました。そもそもP.O.Boxを持つようになったきっかけは、以前住んでいた所の大家さんから自分のP.O.Boxを持つよう頼まれていたこと（大家さんの住所を使ってほしくなかったらしく）、また引っ越す度に、友達や銀行、クレジットカード会社、車の保険とか、色んな人たちに新しい住所を知らせるのが面倒だったことです。
でも、最近カフルイ郵便局までP.O.Boxをチェックしに行くのが一苦労なこと、それからレンタル料を節約出来ること、それから今住んでいるところに、この先2年ほど住むような予定なので、キャンセルすることに決心したわけです。P.O.Boxの鍵を返したときは、少し物悲しい気持ちがしました。P.O.Boxは私の宝物箱みたいな感じでした。開ける度にドキドキして結構楽しかったかも。
今は新しい住所がありますので、私に手紙を書きたいとか、知りたい方はメールくださいまし　：）
