先 週の土曜日、マッサージスクールに行ってきました。このマッサージスクールに行き始めたのが、昨年の９月。毎週火曜日と木曜日の夜６時から９時までのクラ スと、毎週土曜日に朝８時半から夕方５時までのクラス、週に計三回学校へ行きます。今までに指圧、スウェディッシュマッサージ、ハイドロセラピー、 Jorei、それからロミロミを習いました。そして解剖学も。これから７月の終わりまで学校は続き、その間にOrtho-bionomyやリフレクソロ ジーも習います。（Ortho-bionomyについてはまだ一体何なのか分からないので日本語訳が出来ませんが、ちょっと調べてみました。あるウェブサ イトによりますと縮んだ筋肉を更に縮めたその反動で筋肉を伸ばすという方法だそうです。他にもこのサイトを見つけましたので、参考までにどうぞ。オーソバイオノミー）今月の最後の週からは、クリニックが始まります。一般の方が予約を取られて来られ、私たち生徒のマッサージを受けていかれるのです！私はまだまだ練習不足で不安な気持ちになりますが、まだ「生徒」なんだから完璧じゃなくていいんだと自分に言い聞かせているところです。
何故マッサージスクール？と思われる方もいらっしゃるかと思います。私は小さい頃から、ヒーリングワークについて学びたかっったのです。マウイに来た当初の理由もそのため。でも、その頃は英語が話せなかったのまずMaui Language Instituteに行って英語を学びました。そして大学にも進むことが出来、昨年卒業したのを機に、OPTカードに申請して、こうして働きながらマッサージスクールに行くことが可能となりました。
私はこのアロハマッサージセラピースクールが大好き。クラスメイトのみんなも大好きで、家族のようになっています。お互いがお互いを信用しあっているの で、お互いを見せ合うことがこわくない。体だけじゃなく、心も。ここでは、マッサージ以上に深いものを学んでいます。この学校を選んで良かったと心から 思っています。出会いは昨年の夏にある新聞に目を通したときに、この学校のオープンハウスの広告を見かけたのです。そしてそのオープンハウスが丁度その次 の日で、特に予定が無かったので見に行ってみたのです。それでもまだ迷っていたけれどもローレンの後押しで決断することが出来ました。がんばって練習しま すので、皆さん練習台になってください。

Last Saturday, I went to a massage school. I have been a student there since September. Every Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6 to 9pm as well as from 8:30 to 5pm on Saturdays, I go to school. I have learned Shiatsu, Swedish Massage, Hydrotherapy, Jorei and Lomilomi. Oh, I cannot forget about anatomy class. The school will end in July, and until then, I will learn about
Orth-Bionomy and reflexology.
From the last week of this month, the clinic hours will begin. People from the community will make appointments and come to receive our massage. I am nervous now because I don't think that I am ready yet. I am telling myself that I don't need to be perfect because I am still a "student."

I love this massage school. I love my classmates; they are like my family. We trust each other, so we are not afraid of showing us not only physically but also emotionally. I am learning something that is deeper than just massage techniques. I am truly happy that I chose this school. If I did not look at a newspaper last summer, I would not be here. I found about an open house of this school on the newspaper, and it was the next day, and fortunately, I did not have any appointments, so I went. Even after that, I hesitated to sign up, but with Loren's support, I could make up my mind. Everyone, please help me to practice at massage by massaging you!
